In June of 2022, DFOB found itself in need of another rescue dog to train. A group of trainers went to the APA to take a look at the adoptable dogs that had service dog potential. As the saying goes, “when it rains, it pours” and they were met with around five dogs that had a lot of potential. One of the dogs we met had been there for a couple of months, rather than just a couple of days like the others. Despite his longer residency at the APA, “Pumba” had an amazing personality. He was so happy to meet us and immediately loveable. A few days later, “Pumba” was now “Louie” and he was living at Dogs for Our Brave, ready to start his journey to become a future service dog for a deserving veteran.
